Independent journalists making musicians heard since 2018.
Behind every artist is a story waiting to be told. Through professional articles, music reviews and PR services, The Wave shares the meaning behind artists’ work.
Annelise Gonzalez - “Feel Something”
Gonzalez sets the example as she blooms delicately into a new version of herself: one who embraces vulnerability and is unafraid to vocalize her feelings.
rarish - “get high”
“Get high” delivers sobering lyrics about emotional neglect and heartbreak but ramps up the energy until you can’t help but smile and dance, even if your heart aches.
toast - ‘pony’
Pony delivers a treasure trove of gems, a genuine and relatable look at the trials of growing up, and a much-needed reassurance that things are going to work out in the end.
I Will Be Happy: An Unsanctioned Chat with Dead Diplomat
Dead Diplomat gives The Wave an inside scoop on new LP Happy Kids, “The Dissonance”, and more.
Dead Diplomat - Happy Kids
Dead Diplomat’s innovative sound, powerful storytelling and much-needed message of hope and sincerity create something truly groundbreaking.
Destiny Elle - Painting With My Teardrops
A hard-hitting combination of pop melodies, immersive stories, and driving rhythms.
Album Review: Dungen – En Är För Mycket och Tusen Aldrig Nog
Swedish psychedelic rock with international appeal.
Album Review: Caleb Landry Jones - Gadzooks Vol. 2
Vol. 2 continues the unnerving madness of the previous album with more unpredictable, feverish originality, sometimes to a fault.

A thoughtful, bittersweet follow-up
Album Review: Revisiting MuteMath’s Self-Titled LP
Detailed, virtuosic, and forward-thinking, this 2006 record still gleams.
It all started when…
Caroline Birmingham stepped into the radio studio at Southeastern University (Lakeland, FL) to play the music other stations wouldn’t play.
The Wave Alternative Radio Show was born: an eccentric, hour-long radio special on 93.7 FM WSEU giving airplay to up-and-coming acts, outliers and visionaries of the music world.
Driven by a deep-seated passion for independent music, The Wave featured unorthodox playlists, exclusive music performances and interviews that went behind the scenes of artists’ work.
Now, The Wave lives on as a digital journalism community with the same goal:
make musicians heard.
